InterviewTRAK Tips

There are two kinds of signups on InterviewTRAK:

  • Preselect schedules: You must submit your resume to the employer through InterviewTRAK. The employer then reviews the resumes received and chooses which students he/she wants to interview and notifies Career Services. HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU ARE SELECTED? Under InterviewTRAK, Display personal dates; click on "Events I am preselected or an alternate for". There will be a message notifying you that you have been selected. YOU THEN HAVE TO SCHEDULE YOURSELF FOR AN AVAILABLE TIME-SLOT. If you are chosen for a preselect interview, you will receive notification via email from our office.
  • Open Schedules: These schedules are open on a first-come first serve basis. You schedule yourself for the time that is most convenient for you.

Timeline Countdown for Interview Signups:

Schedules open for sign-up on Thursday night at 12 midnight. It is your responsibility to check for new schedules opening each week. Schedules typically remain open for sign up for one week; however, it is to your advantage to sign up ASAP! The employers are notified after student sign up is closed as to which students have expressed interest in interviewing with their company, and are presented with a resume and other materials if applicable. The company will then review the resumes and notify our office of their selection. This information is then posted through InterviewTRAK when you log in under "Display personal dates". You will also get an email from our office notifying you if you have been selected and to sign up for a time.

Tips for getting the most out of InterviewTRAK:

  • Be sure to check interview schedules everyday. There are new interviews posted daily.
  • Check your interview status daily or at least every other day. This way, you won’t miss preselect sign-up if you are chosen. YOU ONLY HAVE THREE (3) DAYS TO SIGN-UP, before alternates may begin signing up.
  • Note that you must meet all employer requirements to sign up for an interview (i.e. major, class level, degree level, citizenship status, graduation date, etc.) If you do not qualify and still wish to be considered for an interview, you will need to contact the employer directly.
  • Keep a planner! Note when you submitted your resume for preselection and when you should check to see if you have been chosen. Write down the day and time of your interview or print the page.
  • Remember that you are responsible for keeping track of your interviews, sign-ups, etc. Make sure you note the location of your interview. Interviews are typically held in Lighty 160 unless otherwise noted.
  • Always log out of your browser when you are finished to keep your record secure.
  • Be sure to have several copies of your transcript on hand (they can be unofficial) in case the company is requiring one for preselection, or at the time of the interview. To order a copy of your transcript, official transcripts may be obtained by contacting the Registrar's Office, Washington State University, French Administration Building, Room 346, Pullman, WA 99164-1035. Phone number is (509) 335-5330.

Falsification of information policy:

Students and alumni registering and submitting their resume are certifying the information is truthful and accurate.
